FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSQ: What size of units do you offer and where are they located?
A: We offer five standard sizes:
(all measurements in feet – width x depth x height) 144 cu ft 180 cu ft 252 cu ft 378 cu ft 756 cu ft We can also customize units to your exact size requirements. Units are currently located in Western District, Kennedy Town and Aberdeen. We are adding new locations on an ongoing basis. Q: How do I choose the right size of unit?
A: First, take a look at our Size Guide. Then talk to our customer-services representative
(call 2548 4049) who will discuss your needs and suggest a visit to one of our facilities. Q: How are the units secured?
A: Each unit is secured by a cylinder lock provided by us, the key to which is held by you. You can have an additional lock if you choose. The premises are protected by CCTV and access is only possible with a proximity card.
Q: How much notice do I need to give to rent a unit?
A: None. If a suitable unit is available, you can sign up immediately and move your items in.
Q: What is the minimum rental period?
A: Subject to agreement otherwise, the usual minimum licence period is one calendar month
Q: What documentation is involved?
A: We ask you to sign a simple licence agreement, which sets out the terms and conditions. You can do this as soon as you have selected a unit.
Q: Do I have to pay a deposit?
A: No. If you prefer not to pay a deposit, we normally ask you to provide details of your credit card. However, if you choose not to provide credit-card details, then we do ask for a deposit equal to one month’s rental, payable by cheque or cash. This will be refunded (less any deductions for unpaid rental etc) at the end of your rental period, provided you have given us one month’s notice to terminate.
Q: How is the rental paid?
A: Rental is usually paid one month in advance by various means (see Payment Methods).
Q: Can you help with delivery of items to my unit?
A: Yes. We work with several reputable local and international transport/removal companies. If you notify us, we can help you to organize delivery.
Q: When can I get access to my unit and how?
A: In most cases, access is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You access the facility with the proximity card and use your own key to your unit.
Q: Do you have car parking at the facilities?
A: Yes. Free parking for cars and small vans is available at all our facilities.
Q: Do I need insurance on the contents of my unit?
A: Yes. We have our own insurance packages that we can offer you, tailored to meet your requirments.
Q: Are the units climate-controlled and what does this mean?
A: Yes. Climate control means that the space is controlled for humidity.
Q: How much notice must I give before moving out?
A: For rental periods of one month or longer, we ask for one month’s written notice, which can be given by email or fax.
